We’ve all been living in strange times over these past weeks as we’ve been going through Covid-19. We’ve all been trying to deal with the new constraints on our lives, spending much more time at home and trying new ways to do some things, like communicating with our friends, family and loved ones. It’s been a time that’s really changed our routines and habits, in many cases giving us more time on our hands. I know that’s been the case for me, as I’ve been fortunate to be able to work from home, with no commuting or the time in the car everyday that brings. While work is keeping me busy, it’s given some extra time to explore some different ideas & the time to try some things I’ve been curious about doing.

One thing that I’ve always wanted to do when I started “Magpie Brûlé” last year was to use different mediums to talk about the things we care about. Writing is my favourite way to do this, and my love for writing has grown over the years. We’ve also done a podcast over the past year intermittently, which has been enjoyable too but haven’t been able to produce it as much as I would prefer. But one thing that I’ve wanted to try was doing more work with video online but haven’t had the time to do what was needed to ensure I could do it to a standard that I expect of myself.

Well thanks to the current circumstances we’ve been dealing with and spending so much time at home, I have finally found that time. And thanks to that, I’m happy to announce that we’ll be taking “Magpie Brûlé” to YouTube and will be posting video content here at this site starting tomorrow. While I love to write, sometimes what needs to be said is better done in video, to get the point across and to give it justice. On top of that, we’ll be exploring doing interviews, some panels on topics of interest and more. Also, all videos that we post will be released as podcasts, for you to download at your convenience at the current podcast account. I’m looking forward to taking this step and I hope that you enjoy it. Thanks again for reading.
